ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SAFETY DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH BENDER COMMUNICATIONS OF MARION, OHIO, FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A VOIP CONSOLE SYSTEM FOR THE MARION CITY DISPATCH CENTER AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2013-86 authorized the preparation of requests for bids for the installation of a VOIP Console System for the Marion City Dispatch Center in the City of Marion, Ohio, and
WHEREAS, Bids were opened on December 30, 2013 with Bender Communications of Marion, Ohio, submitted the lowest and best bid of $78,281.76, and
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County, Ohio:
Section 1. That the Safety Director be authorized and directed to enter into contract with Bender Communications, Marion, Ohio, for the installation of the new VOIP Console System for the Marion City Dispatch Center, Marion, Ohio.
Section 2. That this cost of the VOIP Console System is $78,281.76 and shall be payable from the Dispatch Capital Improvement Fund 265.1001.5443.
Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of health, welfare and safety of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof; and for the further reason it is necessary for the daily operation of said City, and the bids are good for 30 days from the date of opening; and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon it’s passage and approval by the Mayor, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise, it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
