Summary of Proceedings from October 24, 2016 – Mr. Cumston moved to approve, Mr. Thomas 2nd. Roll call: Ayes all, motion carried. Summary is approved.
Mayor gave a Proclamation to Beth Meadows, President of Marion Inc. Board for Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 26 “Small Business Saturday” Day.
Mayor gave a hearty send-off to Fire Chief Tony Zwolle on his retirement.
ORDINANCE 2016- 77:
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO PREPARE SPECIFICATIONS AND ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE BIOSOLIDS LAND APPLICATION PROGRAM AND FOR HIGH CALCIUM QUICK LIME FOR THE DIVISION OF WATER POLLUTION CONTROL
Mr. Cumston stated that this came out of Finance with a 3-0 recommendation for approval, I’ll move to suspend, Mr. Daniels 2nd. Roll call: Ayes all, motion carried.
Mr. Cumston moved to adopt, Mr. Norris 2nd. Roll call: Ayes all, motion carried. ORDINANCE 2016-77 IS ADOPTED
ORDINANCE 2016- 78:
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH VALLEY FORD TRUCK TO PURCHASE TWO (2) 2017 FORD TRANSIT CONNECT WAGONS WITH HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY TO BE USED AT THE SENIOR CENTER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
Mr. Cumston stated that this came out of Finance with a 3-0 recommendation for approval, this is all Grant money, I’ll move to suspend, Mr. Huddle 2nd. Roll call: Ayes all, motion carried.
Mr. Cumston moved to adopt, Mr. Norris 2nd. Roll call: Ayes all, motion carried. ORDINANCE 2016-78 IS ADOPTED
ORDINANCE 2016- 79:
ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENTS IN VARIOUS FUNDS FOR THE YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2016
Mr. Cumston stated that this came out of Finance with a 3-0 recommendation for approval, this is the first part for adjustments, there be another at the end of the year, I’ll move to suspend, Mr. Norris 2nd. Roll call: Ayes all, motion carried.
Mrs. Gustin asked if there were any outstanding adjustments after we spoke. Auditor Carr said no.
Mr. Cumston moved to adopt, Mr. Norris 2nd. Roll call for adoption: Ayes all, motion carried. ORDINANCE 2016-79 IS ADOPTED
Matters not on the Agenda:
Mrs. Cunningham wanted to let the administration know that she had taken a drive with the sanitation men, and she was quite impressed. They do a terrific job. Thank you for their service, it was an eye opener.
Mr. Huddle wanted to know about the upcoming insurance rates for the employees. Mayor Schertzer said after Committee assignments, we would like to go into Executive Session to speak on that issue.
