Job applications may be obtained from the Human Resources Administrative Assistant on the 3rd floor of City Hall or by downloading the application from the City’s website. 

A City of Marion job application must be completed in full.  Incomplete applications, applications without an original signature (faxes not accepted), or late applications (postmarks not accepted) will not be processed.  A resume will not be accepted in lieu of filing a city application, but one may be attached as additional information.  

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Applications must be received before the deadline listed on the job posting.

Position Location:  Marion City Hall, 233 W. Center St, Marion, OH

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with starting hourly rate of $18.66/hour and tops out at $24.89/hr. upon successful work performance after 15 months

The individual in this position is under the supervision of the Law Director and responsible for the accurate, timely administration and enforcement of the City Zoning Code, including, but not limited to: accepting applications for and issuing permits, ensuring compliance with all Zoning/Compliance/ Obligations contained within the City Code.  These responsibilities are in addition to all other duties assigned by supervisor related to Codes, Regulations or Obligations.  The Inspector shall also ensure that all observations made in the field, which may be violations of the City Health Code, Premises Regulations or other Codified Ordinances or other obligations are addressed by him/her or referred to the appropriate proper enforcement authority for action.

Employee must have Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a related field of work with 6-months or 1-year experience in Construction and Code Law Enforcement preferred, or any combination of education and experience may be considered.  A valid Ohio Driver’s License without restrictions that is free from any requirement of High-Risk Liability Insurance is required.

Assistant Water Pollution Control Superintendent

Position Location:  Wastewater Treatment Plant, 1810 Marion Agosta Rd., Marion, OH

This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $43,000-$68,926 based on experience.
 

The individual in this position will be responsible to the Water Pollution Control Superintendent to assist in the direction of the operations of the Wastewater Treatment Facility and Collection System.  Plans, directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the operation and maintenance of the Water Pollution Control Plant to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operations.  Works independently within a broad policy framework established by the Superintendent.  Applicant with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three (3) years working experience in the field of wastewater treatment or related waste disposal activities preferred.  Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skill and ability may be considered.  A Class III Wastewater Works Operators Certificate issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is preferred (or must be obtained within 18 months of hire date).

Employee is required to have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with no driving restrictions and must be free of any requirement for High-Risk Liability Insurance.  Must be willing to obtain a Class B CDL.
