Employment Opportunities 

Individuals can complete and submit applications to the City of Marion in the following ways:

  • Complete application online by selecting “Current Job Opening” button below, then select link for job from list of titles for open positions to complete application.
  • Obtain an application from the Human Resources Office on the 3rd floor of City Hall. 

 

Please read application carefully and complete in full to avoid disqualification for hire.  Incomplete applications, applications without appropriate signatures, or applications received after application deadline (postmarks not accepted) will not be processed.  A resume will not be accepted in lieu of filing a city application, however, one may be attached as additional information.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Applications must be submitted to the City of Marion either online or to the Human Resources Office by the deadline listed on each job posting.

The City of Marion only accepts applications for current vacancies.  If you wish to apply for more than one position, please complete an application for each position.  

  

 

 

 

Civil Service Applications are currently being accepted for the following:

The Civil Service Commission for the City of Marion has announced a two-phase entrance examination for Fire Department – Firefighter.  Individuals are encouraged to apply through the City's online application portal above; however, if an individual needs to submit a paper application, the following link can be used to print the application packet.

    Application Open Date:  Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 8:30 a.m.
    Application must be Completed:  PRIOR TO MIDNIGHT - February 19, 2024

   Paper applications should be submitted to the Human Resources Office located on the 3rd Floor of Marion City Hall, 233 W. Center St.
