     Street:  Jamaica Dr. from Barbados Ave. to Easy St.

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, Octoer 3 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Friday, October 7 - 5:00 pm

     City of Marion Street Maintenance crews will be completing roadway repairs at this location.

The following streets will be closed as noted below:
 

     Street:  Girard Ave. from Columbia St. to Bellefontaine Ave.

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, September 26 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Wednesday, September 28, 5:00 pm

     City of Marion Sewer Maintenacne crews will be repairing a sanitary sewer at this location.

The following streets will be closed as noted below:
 

     Street:  Belmont St. between S. Vine St. and Presidential Dr. will be closed to through traffic

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, September 19 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Until further notice  

     Underground Utilities, Inc. will be completing the Belmont St. Sewer Improvement Project.

     Street:  S. Vine St. betweent Gurley Ave. and St. James St.

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, September 19 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Monday, September 19 - 5:00 pm  

     Sanitary sewers will be replaced at this location as part of the Belmont St. Sewer Imporovement Project.

Mt. Vernon Ave. at S. Greenwood St. will be closed on Sunday, September 18 from 9:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m., Monday, September 19 as a contractor for AQUA Ohio works at this location.  A detour will be posted to route traffic around this area.

E. Church St. at S. Greenwood St. will be restricted to one lane on Friday, September 16 from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.

A contractor for AQUA Ohio will be completing work at this location.

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 6, detours will begin being posted on the following streets in the downtown Marion area to accommodate activities for the Marion Popcorn Festival, which will be held September 8-10.

• Center St. between State St. and Campbell St.
• Church St. between Main St. and Prospect St.
• Main St. between Huber St. and Church St.
• Prospect St. between George St. and Church St.
• Oak St. between Huber St. and Center St.

Downtown streets will remain closed until the festival’s conclusion at midnight on Saturday and may remain closed into the early hours of Sunday morning for festival clean-up. 

In preparation for and during the Popcorn Parade, closure of a number of area streets will begin at 4:00 pm on Thursday, September 8.  The following is a list of street changes and closures:

• Kensington St. will become two-way at 4:00 pm.
• East Center St. between Kensington St. and State St. will close at 5:00 pm.
• Forest Lawn Blvd. from Center St. to Mt. Vernon Ave. will close at 5:00 pm.

• The following streets will be closed between East Center St. and East Church St.:
   

  -  Pennsylvania Ave.	-  Merchant Ave.	-  Homer St.
  -  Kenmore Ave.	-  Clover Ave.	-  Spencer St.

• The following streets will be closed between East Center St. and Wilson Ave.:
   

  -  Chicago Ave.	-  Boone Ave.	-  Franconia Ave.
  -  Johnson St.	-  True Ave.

• The following streets will be closed until the conclusion of the parade:

          -  State St. between Center St. and Washington St.
          -  Main St. between Church St. and Hill St.
          -  Delaware Ave. between Hill St. and Washington St.
          -  Columbia St. between Main St. and State St.
          -  Hill St. between Main St. and State St.
 

As a result of the various street closures taking place in preparation of the Popcorn Festival Parade on Thursday, Marion Area Transit will be making final pick-ups at 2:00 pm, with final drop offs scheduled for 2:30 pm on September 8.  Normal operating hours will resume on Friday, September 9.

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing the following closures for the City of Marion on Monday, September 5th in observance of the Labor Day holiday:

• All offices in City Hall will be closed.

• Sanitation crews will not work on Monday, September 5th.  Residents that normally have Monday sanitation service are asked to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6th.  Sanitation crews will collect both Monday and Tuesday’s refuse on Tuesday, with the possibility that some of Tuesday’s collection could extend into Wednesday.

• Marion Area Transit buses will not operate on Monday, September 5th.  Normal bus routes will resume on Tuesday, September 6th.

• Marion Senior Center will be closed on Monday, September 5th.  All programs, activities, and transportation will resume on Tuesday, September 6th.

Necessary services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.

     Street:  Forest St. will be closed daily between Sugar St. and Florence St.

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, August 29 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Friday, September 2 - 5:00 pm  

     A contractor for Columbia Gas will be working at this location.

     Street:  Florence St. from Uncapher Ave. to David St.

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, August 29 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Tuesday August 30 - 5:00 pm  

     A contractor for Columbia Gas will be working at this location.

     Street:  Uncapher Ave. between Bennett St. and Sugar St.

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, August 29 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Tuesday, August 30 - 5:00 pm  

     A contractor for Columbia Gas will be working at this location.

The closure of a section of Bellefontaine Ave. at the Norfolk Southern rail crossing has been extended for continued repair work.  Following is additional information received from the rail company regarding the closure.

     Street:  Bellefontaine Ave. from Miami St. to Gill Ave.

     Closure Start Date:  Monday, August 15 - 7:00 am

     Closure End Date:  Friday, August 26 - 5:00 pm  

     Norfolk Southern will be completing repairs on the tracks at this location.
